Take Two!

  • Apr. 8th, 2008 at 10:40 AM
accepted, yay!
"Intended" is also now available at AnthologyBuilder. :)

I also asked about their contract and whether or not I could create my own antho at LuLu.com of my published work. It's not mentioned in their contract, but I figured it's better to ask and make sure it's all cool before I go and do anything. The contract is non-exclusive, so no problem there.

Mind you, it's going to be awhile before I have enough stories that can't seem to find reprint homes before I create the antho, but it's nice to know the option is available. :)

Okay, VERY late start today...better get moving!

Anthologized

"In the Blood" has been accepted by AnthologyBuilder and is now available online. Nancy specific comments: "What a sweet story!"

Definitely a nice light in the day. :)

Checking the galley now...and I know I should get back to her on any technical issues; but...what I WANT to fix is the writing itself. Is that a normal reaction to the galley? lol

writer at work
The one thing I did do that was writing related yesterday. I suspect I needed the down time, but still I would rather have gotten more done. I realize I do the work thing all week and the writing thing all weekend, but it's not like I never take it easy. Honest!

Anyway...

"A Gift of Writing"
starting count: 2923
ending count: 2912
gain/loss: -11
Actual (processed) word count: 2923

Total New Words (Day/Week): 0 / 0
Total for the Day: 2923
Total for the Week: 2923

"Gift" has been sent on to the DII Antho; we'll see if the other admins there like it enough. It's only supposed to take 3 months, but they have been slow. I gave them a nudge about it earlier this morning. (I only vote if there's a tie, and I can't vote on my own so a tie would be a rejection.)

Also of note, "Metawriting" will now be making an appearance in a new Lilley Press newsletter. She'll be starting with the older pieces that have already appeared in Worlds of Wonder.

Long list of things to get done today, including revising a nonfic article and trying to find it a home, slush reading, A.C., a new "training" manual for LP (probably not very long since it'll be mostly "how to"), crits, & et cetera.

No, I wouldn't have needed any down time, not at all! :P

"Essence" & Inspired Pen

  • Jun. 27th, 2007 at 11:26 AM
accepted, yay!
Just received the acceptance this morning. The downside is that Inspired Pen has gone through some changes and is no longer paying. It really would have been nice to get $25 for the poem. *sighs*

Regardless, I've told them I'm fine with it. It's nice to know my poetry is publishable, but I never really expected to earn much, if anything, from it. *shrug* I just submit it because, well, really, what else am I going to do with it? I'm not really much of a poet.

So, finally, an acceptance this month! No idea when it will be published. I'll let you all know as soon as I do, and as soon as I have my machine in working order. Time to get back to it. :P

"Presence" in DKA

  • Oct. 4th, 2005 at 8:10 PM
sold!
No publication date yet - I just received the acceptance along with the contract, but "Presence" has been accepted for publication in Dragons, Knights, and Angels.

"Presence" is my second paid sale.

I should also mention, since I'm on the topic of publication, that another short, "Intended," will be appearing in the December issue of Lyrica, a nice, little, for-the-love ezine edited by a fellow DII member. She's been begging for this story for some time now, and I finally gave in. lol

"No Connection" Accepted!
