Today the kids have a doctor's appointment to renew prescriptions, so, not only did I get to sleep in, but I've lost the rest of my morning to getting the cash for the rent and the appointment.

Some good news today: I received my first nibble on the resumes I set out for the freelance stuff. I sent it off to the woman who is helping me out and she says it looks kosher, so I sent a reply to get things going. (Really, how DO you tell if an offer is scammish or illegal or going to be a problem?) It's a contract position, which is probably good. At least things are moving forward in that area. :)

I started a crit for the r.l. group yesterday that I plan to finish today, AFTER I revise "God of Light" and send it off to Worlds of Wonder. I was talking with a few friends in chat about the last round of comments and how I really didn't want to expand it to novella size (not only do I NOT need another long project on my plate, but, really, I have nothing more I want to do with it -- the idea came as a short story, I want to get it to work as a short story), and she mentioned that she not only liked it (she had seen it's earlier incarnations), but that WoW pays now. While they don't pay a lot, I would rather submit it to a near sure bet then to keep pulling my hair out over it. So, I promised I would do some revising and get it submitted. She seemed very happy with that.

So, today, "GoL" revision, crit completion, then back to A.C. ch2. I'm on page 9 of 28. I had hoped to get at least halfway yesterday, but I lost my focus once the husband came home -- he'd had a particularly bad day and needed to vent. If I get all that done, I'll get started on the next r.l. crit! So, yes, plans, plans, plans.

Not to do, do, do. :)

We must have perseverance and above all confidence in ourselves. We must believe that we are gifted for something, and that this thing, at whatever cost, must be attained.
